Deer Tongue Tacos

Let’s talk tongue! No, nothing dirty here, so get your minds out of the gutter! Having recently moved to South Texas, lengua is a new thing for me, but something I enjoy greatly. I was first introduced to it via my Mother-In-Law, and loved the flavor, the juiciness, and that fattiness. Yum Yum! On our last hunting trip, my husband got a wild hair up his butt and asked the guy doing our processing to save the tongue. Yes, we got a LOT of weird looks, but I was game. I’m a big advocate of using what you kill, so this fit perfectly into my philosophy.

I've never had deer tongue but beef tongue - thats good grazing man, thinly sliced cold tongue sandwiches is awesome !
