Armed Texans say they're heading to the border to deter illegal immigration

"So it's pretty disgusting that our own citizens--Texans haven't stepped up to patrol their own border."

That disgust has sparked action in Derek Poe. The owner of Golden Triangle Tactical in Beaumont is forming a volunteer group that Poe says will go to the border to act as a "force multiplier."

"We can't detain [illegal immigrants]... we'll just call it in to the border patrol, have the border patrol come and pick them up."

Poe says the militia will serve as a deterrent as they work on private property.

"Usually though, 9 times out of 10... If [illegal immigrants] see other guys on the opposite side of the fence, they're not going to cross."

Those who join the group will get a plate carrier, night vision goggles and an AR-15. But the group isn't open to everyone. Poe says there are membership requirements.

"If they want to join this, come in do the application, so we can run a background check, everything else on it, and then we'll set up for an interview process and then we'll start the training," he explained.

Cop who was photographed holding a beer bong for football game tailgater faces investigation

Police are saying a officer captured on camera holding a beer bong 'appears to have used poor judgement.'

The photo, which appeared on theChive.com, was taken with tailgaters at a Cleveland Browns football game.

The officer, Cleveland Patrolman Carl Dooley, appears to be helping the unidentified tailgater drink the beer bong in the Municipal Parking Lot.

And this is a problem why? Oh, because he wasn't being a revenue enforcer for the city and extorting money from people via writing citations and petty bullshit?
I applaud the guy. That's good shit Officer Dooley.  I'm sure all the tailgaters that show up enjoy having you around. It's a tailgate party at a Brown's game. Isn't there supposed to be open containers?

Texas' Oil Production Increased Nearly 30 Percent Over the Last Year

HOUSTON, Texas -- Texas' oil production is up 29 percent from this time last year, according to the Texas Railroad Commission. The state currently produces 2.16 million barrels of oil each day.

New drilling technology has shifted the focus of the oil industry, and helped bolster a boom in Texas' Eagle Ford  Shale and Permian Basin. According to the Dallas Morning News, the Texas Railroad Commission issued 2,419 drilling permits in July--a steep uptick from this time last year which indicates that Texas' oil boom isn't slowing anytime soon.

Just five years ago, Texas only produced about 1.1 million barrels of oil each day.

Currently, more than half of the nation's growth in gas and oil over the last year took place in Texas and Oklahoma. Texas alone has almost reached the production level of Iraq, the second-largest oil producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Josiah Neeley, a Policy Analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation told Breitbart Texas that a bust isn't likely end the state's gas and oil boom anytime soon. The only immediate threat to the industry, according to Neeley, is government regulation.

Philly VA training slides depicted veterans as ‘Oscar the Grouch’

The beleaguered Department of Veterans Affairs depicted dissatisfied veterans as Oscar the Grouch in a recent internal training guide, and some vets and VA staffers said Tuesday that they feel trashed.

The cranky Sesame Street character who lives in a garbage can was used in reference to veterans who will attend town-hall events Wednesday in Philadelphia.

"There is no time or place to make light of the current crisis that the VA is in," said Joe Davis, a national spokesman for the VFW. "And especially to insult the VA's primary customer."

The 18-page slide show on how to help veterans with their claims, presented to VA employees Friday and obtained by The Inquirer, also says veterans might be demanding and unrealistic and tells VA staffers to apologize for the "perception" of the agency.

Day care accused of duct taping kids to mats

A new day care worker was so concerned by what she saw in June that she says she snapped a photo of a toddler who was strapped to his nap mat with duct tape.

That employee of Heart2Heart Montessori Academy in Willow Park, Texas, notified parents and authorities and then quit her position.

The child's parents, Kristi and Brad Galbraith, said they confronted day care co-owner Pamela Decker.

"Once I told her we had photographs, she broke down at that point and started apologizing and admitted to what she'd done," said Brad Gilbraith. The couple filed suit against Heart2Heart Montessori on Tuesday.

Immigrants Can Now Obtain Asylum for Spousal Abuse

HOUSTON, Texas -- Foreign individuals may now seek asylum in the U.S. due to domestic abuse in their home countries. On Tuesday a federal immigration board ruled that a married Guatemalan woman, fleeing a violent husband back home, could obtain political asylum.

The Board of Immigration Appeals ruled that a woman who has been abused by her husband has endured "harm rising to the level of persecution," according to the San Francisco Gate. The woman, who is currently in the U.S. with her three children, reportedly endured weekly beatings; her husband apparently burned and raped her. Despite the alleged abuse, police in Guatemala said they could not help the woman.

The ruling is significant, as the Board of Immigration Appeals oversees the immigration courts of President Obama's Department of Justice.

The board reportedly acknowledged a culture of violence in Guatemala, which cases its domestic abuse victims to be in a "particular social group." Such jargon implies "a crucial qualification for asylum eligibility," according to the Gate

Latest Astrodome proposal: massive indoor park

HOUSTON - The iconic but shuttered Houston Astrodome could come back to life as an indoor park that county officials say would be the world's largest, according to the newest proposal for reusing the stadium and saving it from demolition.

The pitch came from Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, the county's top elected official, during a news conference Tuesday on the floor of the 49-year-old county-owned building.

Emmett said while some people feel the structurally sound but dilapidated stadium should be demolished, he views the Astrodome as an asset that's still useful.

"Before we just toss it on the trash heap, we need to take a look at what people in our community need," he said.

Emmett said he came up with the idea while on a morning walk during one of Houston's hot and humid days.

The proposal includes a green space for festivals and other gatherings, a possible amphitheater and an area for sports activities. Emmett pointed to the Astrodome's upper seating levels Tuesday, saying they could be a good location for hiking, biking and fitness trails.

Texas National Guard Reverses Position on Off-Duty Concealed Carry During Deployment

CAMP SWIFT, Texas — The Texas National Guard (TNG) has reversed its previously stated position about guardsmen being allowed to carry personal weapons when off duty during the deployment to the border region under Operation Strong Safety. Texas Adjutant General, Major General John Nichols, confirmed the change in policy during a press conference where it was revealed the deployment of TNG soldiers and airmen had already begun.

Breitbart Texas reported on August 20th that the TNG Staff Judge Advocate’s office had briefed guardsmen they would not be allowed to carry personal weapons while off duty during the deployment, even if they had a concealed carry license or were a certified peace officer in their civilian professional duties. Responding to a question from Breitbart Texas as to if this policy had been changed, General Nichols said, “Actually, that was a federal policy we were looking at. We have applied the state laws so they can.”

Guns and Tits... What could possibly be wrong with that shit?

Topless TX protesters: ‘Something truly wrong’ if breasts seen as more dangerous than guns

Semi-nude women demonstrated Sunday afternoon in Texas demanding the right to go topless in public.

The women wore tape over their nipples during the demonstration in downtown San Antonio, where they were joined by about two-dozen supporters.

A similar rally was held in downtown Austin.

“I realize that society has sexualized a lot of things, but I must say, when I see men jogging in running shorts, I just see men jogging in running shorts, without a shirt because it’s hot, and I want that privilege,” said Kelly Rupp (pictured above), who demonstrated in Austin.

They should join the 2nd Amendment cause. Then, they could be topless and defend themselves.

American held in Syria for almost two years is released

(CNN) — American Peter Theo Curtis, who was held hostage for nearly two years by Islamist rebels in Syria, was released Sunday.

“Particularly after a week marked by unspeakable tragedy, we are all relieved and grateful knowing that Theo Curtis is coming home after so much time held in the clutches of (al-Nusra Front),” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement, referring to a Syrian rebel group with ties to al Qaeda.

The United States was not involved in negotiations for his release but was aware of private efforts to secure the release, two U.S. law enforcement officials said. It’s not known whether any ransom was paid, the officials said.

Black open-carry activists protest police brutality in Dallas

Black gun-rights activists in Texas protested police brutality Wednesday by exercising their rights to openly carry firearms through the streets of South Dallas.

Dozens of members of the newly-formed Huey P. Newton Gun Club, named after the co-founder of the Black Panther Party, marched with rifles, shotguns and AR-15s down MLK Boulevard. They wound up at a restaurant where police officers were eating lunch, Reason magazine reported.

Police monitored the black-clad demonstrators as many chanted “black power” and “justice for Michael Brown,” the black teenager shot by police in Ferguson, Missouri, the Dallas Morning News reported.

“We think that all black people have the right to self defense and self determination,” said Huey Freeman, an organizer. “We believe that we can police ourselves and bring security to our own communities.”

“The recent murders of unarmed black, brown, and whites across the United States of America has eradicated trust in the police,” the gun club’s website states.

2nd co-owner of slaughterhouse facing charges over bad meat

(CNN) -- A second former co-owner of the California slaughterhouse involved in a recall of nearly nine million pounds of meat was charged with knowingly processing and distributing meat from cancerous cows, court documents released this week say.

Robert Singleton, co-owner of the Rancho Feeding Corporation in Petaluma, was primarily responsible for purchasing cattle and loading shipments for distribution, prosecutors say.
He is charged with distributing "adulterated, misbranded, and uninspected" meat, according to the documents.

Singleton jointly owned the meat plant with Jesse J. Amaral Jr., the former president and general manager who is also known as also known as "Babe Amaral."

Amaral and his former employees, Felix Sandoval Cabrera and Eugene Corda, have all been charged with unlawful sale and distribution of contaminated meat.

Another one bites the dust

HOUSTON, Texas -- Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents spent two days plucking marijuana plants from the ground after discovering two acres of the crop growing on a large plot of land in South Texas.

The fields were discovered about 45 minutes north of Brownsville just outside of a town called Raymondville, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) stated.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that there was a total of 11,500 plants growing on the grounds, which yielded almost 5 tons of marijuana. According to ICE, the crops had a total street value of about $10 million.

Whistleblower goes public: CDC buried data showing vaccines increase risk of autism by 340%

(NaturalNews) A top scientist and researcher for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had a key role in helping Dr. Brian Hooker of the Focus Autism Foundation uncover manipulated data from the agency that obscured a higher incidence of autism in African American boys.

As reported by The Liberty Beacon, the whistleblower came to the attention of Hooker, who has a Ph.D. in biochemical engineering, following a Freedom of Information Act request for the original data regarding the DeStefano et al. MMR (measles, mumps rubella) and autism study.

The site further reported:

Dr. Hooker's study, published August 8 in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Translational Neurodegeneration, shows that African-American boys receiving their first MMR vaccine before 36 months of age are 3.4 times more likely to develop autism vs. after 36 months.

According to Dr. Hooker, the CDC whistleblower, who at present wants to remain anonymous, guided him to evidence revealing that a statistically significant relationship between the age when the MMR vaccine was first administered and the incidence of autism in African American boys was hidden by CDC researchers.

Seek peace when the last enemy flatlines

Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness

I love art. Whether it be expression through music, charcoal, paint, or spoken word, I love it. It shows me that people still care to channel their thoughts and what they are feeling through the vessel of expression. It also tells me that no matter what silencing and voice clamping law is created by people who claim to know what is best for you, we will still continue to express ourselves. The signal cannot be stopped. From the cave drawings of ancients found all over the world to a child scribbling with crayons on a coloring book, it is still happening. We must continue to use our voices to be heard and use our actions to declare the limits to which we will not be pushed. We only get one ride on the carousel of life. ONE. Make it worth it and be remembered. Do not be afraid. Do not cower to intimidation and use your voice. Human expression is a great thing isn't it?

We were given very sacred and special things by our creator. Things that were meant to be protected. Things like a conscience and Unalienable Rights. The conscience guides us on our journey of rightness or wrongness. Our moral values are driven by it. From a psychological standpoint, the conscience is described as what drives our feelings of remorse when we commit actions that go against our moral compass. Do you feel remorse or are you numb because you've been almost bludgeoned to death by fear, despair, and loss of hope because of what is going on all over the world we live in? Is your heart telling you that you should belong to something that stands strong in support of Rightful Liberty and Freedom for all Americans? I truly honor and hold close to my heart the Unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness that our Government was created for to protect. I've taken the oath of enlistment to this Nation once before. Once my service was over, my oath did not expire. It never does. I no longer have to obey orders from anyone but myself, and I will continue to bear true faith and allegiance to our country and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

County will not pay medical bills for toddler hurt in Habersham raid

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. —

Habersham County officials say they do not plan to pay for the medical expenses of a toddler seriously injured during a police raid.

Bounkham Phonesavah, affectionately known as "Baby Boo Boo," spent weeks in a burn unit after a SWAT team's flash grenade exploded near his face. The toddler was just 19-months-old and asleep in the early morning hours of May 28. SWAT officers threw the device into his home while executing a search warrant for a drug suspect.

Habersham County officials are defending their decision not to pay, but the child's family isn't giving up.

After weeks of recovery at two different hospitals, Channel 2 Action News was there in July as the little boy walked out of a hospital with his family.

He is doing better, but late Friday afternoon, his family's attorney told said the family’s medical bills are mounting.

“But at this point, the county is refusing to pay,” said attorney Muwali Davis.

'How is democracy treating you guys?' Islamic ISIS militants taunt Ferguson protestors on social media

Here is a followup on the image I posted last night titled "When you see it" - I knew I saw something a bit odd about it.

ISIS militants and their supporters are using social media to encourage protesters in Ferguson to embrace radical Islam and fight against the U.S. government.

Jihadists in Syria and Iraq and their sympathizers in the West have taken to Twitter to send messages of support to hundreds of demonstrators taking part in a ninth night of angry protests in the U.S. city following the shooting by police of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.

The militants' tweets denounce local officers for the way they have attempted to quell the violence, make reference to historic acts of police brutality, and even use the hashtag #FergusonUnderISIS in an attempt to get angry young men in the city to declare allegiance to the Islamist group.

The news comes as footage purportedly taken from the scene of the Ferguson protests appeared to show one demonstrator marching along a street holding a sign reading 'ISIS is here'.

When you see it

Rubber Bullets

A fine example here of what "non lethal" rubber bullets do. They DO NOT feel like jello when they hit you. A frozen paintball would be a good unit of measure as to what it would feel like to get hit by these rubber bullets. Basically, it's the same as a hockey puck, but in a ball form. It may behoove you, if you were so inclined, to go ahead and start wearing your body armor when you go out and wish to test your First Amendment right.

This woman was out trying to help calm the crowds in Ferguson last night and was hit later on with a rubber bullet.

Dem Says Pro-Gun Demonstrations ‘Need to Be Canceled’

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said over the weekend that a gun rights group shouldn’t bother rescheduling a planned march through Houston’s Fifth Ward, and that these sorts of demonstrations “need to end.”

Open Carry Texas was set to march through the political subdivision of Houston, but had to postpone the event. According to the Houston Chronicle, Jackson Lee and others gathered to say they oppose the group’s effort to raise awareness about the right to openly carry rifles and shotguns in Texas.

“We come in peace,” said Jackson Lee. “On behalf of many thousands who live in this community that are minding their daily business, Open Carry’s efforts need to stop, need to be canceled, they need to end.”

The Chronicle said the Fifth Ward is an historically black neighborhood, and that Open Carry decided to hold an event there after being criticized for only holding events in “rich white neighborhoods.”

“We also want to work with the minority community to get them more involved in their right to legally bear arms,” said Open Carry Texas leader C.J. Grisham.

The conditioning some people have soaked up like sponges since birth sickens me. It is an infection of perfectly good brain matter. Maybe if they brought in Rifle Dynamics to do a class on AK's it would go over a little better. Hell I don't know. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AT ALL WITH TRYING TO TEACH PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS. Some folks just don't want to hear it because it comes from someone different than themselves. What a shame.
