Driver's licenses from these states may not work on domestic flights
In some states, your driver's license soon might not be good enough to board a flight, even if you're traveling within the United States.
The Department of Homeland Security said it will be making a decision this week.
Before you start worrying, there are a boatload of caveats: The government's decision will apply only to people in a handful of states. It wouldn't take effect until at earliest the end of April. And DHS could still decide to postpone its decision, according to a DHS spokeswoman.
Why your driver's license soon might not be good enough to board a flight:
Ten years ago, the U.S. government passed the Real ID Act, issuing stricter standards for state-issued IDs, including drivers licenses. The idea was to toughen standards on what documents were needed to get a driver's license, an effort to crack down on the potential for terrorists and criminals to obtain state-issued IDs. The act makes it harder to obtain a drivers license with counterfeit records.
Fewer than half (22) of the states have complied with the law.

When you have idiots working at DHS like this one below, it's not hard to understand why they make shit so difficult for people and why they'll never stop real terrorism with bullshit like "Real ID". Some people's kids... The noose continues to tighten.
And she thinks the shit is funny, sitting there smirking like she can't believe that he had the audacity to challenge her entitlement syndrome and put her stupid ass on the carpet in front of everyone... She can't even pour piss out of a fucking boot, but she's still getting paid a lot of money to be a "professional"... He knocked her so far off her script it wasn't even funny.

Democrats propose federal gun buyback
Gun owners would be paid to sell their firearms to the federal government under new legislation from Democrats.
The Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act, which was reintroduced
this week by Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-N.J.), is the latest attempt by
Democrats to address gun violence. The bill has 22 co-sponsors.
"Although
no one piece of legislation will eliminate all gun violence, this bill
will get guns off the streets and keep them out of the hands of people
who wish to cause harm,” Payne said. "If we can get one gun off the
street, if we can save one life, then we have to take action.”

I like the part where they said "The Justice Department would destroy the guns and recycle the parts"...
Participating in a gun buy back is like having yourself castrated because you believe that the neighbors have too many kids.

Soldier missing in action for 47 years returned to Texas
KILLEEN, Texas -- After almost five decades of uncertainty, the family of a soldier who went missing in action in Vietnam is receiving closure.
Members of the military and teams from the Austin Police and Fire Departments were at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Tuesday morning as Bill David Hill's remains arrived.
In September, Hill's family got a call saying a DNA test identified his remains 47 years after he disappeared.
Hill's nickname in the Army was "Tex." He served two tours as a helicopter gunner during the Vietnam War before he was shot down in 1968.
"It's more of a celebration than a mourning period," said Beverly Hill Jacobs, Tex's cousin.

Pit Bulls and Peanut Butter
I may have told some of you fine folks who read here about a female pit bull that the BB Camp rescued earlier this year. Basically, someone shot her male mate who was also a Pit Bull, and left her on the side of the road, in labor with a puppy breached, and full of rat poison. She was found in Alvin Texas.
A friend of ours in the neighborhood rescues bully breeds and when we were asked if we could foster her for a few days, we couldn't say no. So, we took her in for a bit while she recovered from her c-section to remove the breached puppy that was dead and to give her time to nurse the one puppy that survived. A few days go by after we get her, and her pup died. She started bleeding profusely from her south end and it would not stop. She was taken back to the vet by the lady who asked us to foster her and was looked at by the Vet to see what the problem was. He determined that instead of just shooting her, like what happened to her male companion, the sorry motherfuckers just fed her rat poison and dumped them both on the side of the road. It was determined that the rat poison is what killed the puppy since he was nursing from her milk. The Vet put her on Vitamin K to help her blood start clotting again and she started healing. We believe the rat poison also blinded her in one eye.
The poor thing, she was all skittish and you could tell she'd done been through some pretty traumatic shit in her short lived life. We figure she had just come into her first heat around the 10 month range and was bred a little too soon because some shitbags wanted puppies to sell for God knows what. It's taken her months and months of getting to know us and to allow us to love her like she needed it. She's finally acting like a normal dog. I think when you rescue a dog, you not only rescue them, but they also rescue you.
She had her first peanut butter experience the other night, and holy shit, was that a fun thing to watch... She now enjoys her Kong jam packed with peanut butter. Hey, better the Kong than my damn sheet rock and door trim. Like I said, it's taken a while for her to completely trust us, and now every day when I hit the door it's like a damn linebacker hitting me because she can't get to me fast enough to lick me and show me she loves and misses me when I'm gone. She's turned out to be a great dog. We've only had to stitch up one of the little dogs once, but that little dog had it coming because she wouldn't leave her alone, as she was still learning the layout of the house and learning her place in our pack when that happened. Her name is Mama Dog and she looks after our youngin's like they are hers. It's a pretty neat thing actually. Anytime someone cries out or whines, she's right there to see what the commotion is. I wouldn't trade her for a golden monkey.
People who've never owned a dog do not grasp unconditional love. Example: Lock your wife or dog in the trunk of a car for a few hours and come back to let them out. Your dog will be really happy to see you and cover you with licks just because they love unconditionally. I can't really say the same for the Wife... Y'all have a great afternoon.
Minority Report is here: Microsoft reveals app that can predict crimes in the future - and could even decide if inmates get parole
Predicting and preventing crime once only seemed possible in science fiction films.
But
now, Microsoft is developing a program that has the potential to mimic
the powers of the 'precogs' from the 2002 film Minority Report and stop
inmates from becoming recurring offenders.
This
new technology could predict which inmates will return to jail within
six months of their release, based on historical data.
'It's all
about software that has the ability to predict the future,' said Jeff
King, a senior program manager at Microsoft, in a webcast with police
departments earlier this year that has virtually gone unnoticed.
The
program, which has not been named yet, is still in early development
stages and the data used in the proof-of-concept isn't from real
inmates.
An algorithm will be used analyze specific data of each inmate, such as their crimes or their behavior while incarcerated.
King noted this works with up to 91 percent accuracy based on historic data.

What the world will be like in 30 years, according to the US government's top scientists
The world is going to be a very different place in 2045.
Predicting the future is fraught with challenges, but when it comes to technological advances and forward thinking, experts working at the Pentagon's research agency may be the best people to ask.
Launched in 1958, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is behind some of the biggest innovations in the military — many of which have crossed over to the civilian technology market. These include things like advanced robotics, global positioning systems, and the Internet.
So what's going to happen in 2045?

It has always been about control. It always will be.
These elitists want complete control of your brain and will try to sell it as "Imagine a world where you could just use your thoughts to control your environment"...
That means to me "Imagine a world where the leaders could just use your thoughts to throw you in jail before you commit a crime, imagine a world where the leaders can just control your thoughts and have you absolutely love anything that is done to you whether it is good for your or not"...
The power brokers don't want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. That strongly goes against their interests. They want obedient slaves, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept it.

Texas police chief, others urge citizens to arm themselves
DALLAS
(AP) -- A Texas police chief who warns President Barack Obama in a
social media video that trying to disarm Americans would "cause a
revolution in this country" is the latest law enforcement official to
urge citizens to arm themselves in the wake of mass shootings.
Randy Kennedy, longtime chief in the small East Texas town of Hughes Springs, about 120 miles east of Dallas, says in the video posted this week on his personal Facebook page that the Second Amendment was established to protect people from criminals and "terrorists and radical ideology."
"It's also there to protect us against a government that has overreached its power," Kennedy says in the video. "You are not our potentate, sir. You are our servant."
He warned people in his town to prepare themselves: "Be ready when the wolf comes to the door, because it's on its way."

Mechanics speak up
I'm inclined to replace some front suspension parts with one arm in a sling this weekend... The SHLBGS said she'd be right there beside me to help turn a wrench if I needed her to. She's not what I like to call "automotive inclined", but damn she can refill a tea glass like it's nobody's business when I'm on a creeper under a vehicle. If you read here and you are one of the folks I don't talk to on the phone or text, I've got a labral tear and torn supraspinatus tendon in my shoulder from the wreck. 2 bulged discs in my neck and back as well. I'm taking it easy you could say, but shit like this won't fix itself and I work for a living and need my wheels.
Here's my dilemma...
I can replace both assemblies with what are called quick-strut assemblies or I can go the individual part route.
I have a spring compression tool to remove the spring from the strut if I find out that it's the upper spring seat insert (#7) that slides into the upper strut mount (#8) that is defective. Yeah it'd probably be a PITA to even jack with the spring removal, but from a financial standpoint, it'd probably be worth it to save a few bucks. I'm also a convenience enthusiast, which means I'd really like the least amount of resistance to get it back to OEM standards. The #7 and #8 parts, are my prime suspects at the moment. Apparently, the rubber is completely gone inside the mount, which is making the end of the strut rod rub against the mount, metal to metal. It sounds like a hard chirp and es no bueno por caca. This is on a 2.5T Volvo S60 (read that as Mustang and Camaro dream killer) that is near and dear to my heart, so I must get it fixed. There are little boys in Mustangs and Camaros out there in the world that must feel the agony of defeat every once in a while. This car will flat out run like a fucking nitro chainsaw on the highway.
So my knuckle busting grease monkey brethren, given the amount of effort it takes to remove a spring even with two good arms, is it even worth me fooling with it to replace the parts individually or should I just fork over the $236.00 to skip all the foreplay and get right to the happy ending?

These graphics show how to pick locks and break padlocks
The art of picking locks may seem like the stuff of action-movie heroes, rather than a commonly known skill. But with perseverance, an understanding of locks, and the right tools, anyone can become a successful lock pick.
Although most advanced and higher-end locks can only be broken with purpose-made picking tools, improvised lock picks can be used to crack low-end or improvised locking systems. According to retired Navy SEAL Clint Emerson's book "100 Deadly Skills," all it takes to create a lock pick is two paper clips, a hard surface, and a pair of pliers.

It's all downhill from here
Since today is my birthday, and I'm feeling a little cabin fever because I haven't really done anything but take it easy and lick my wounds since the wreck, and I've got 19.5 hours left of vacation to burn before year end, I am taking a half day off to go and do absolutely nothing but work on a good daytime buzz with a few of my associates. I may even go run a spotting scope and call shots for the fellas at the range... For those of you going to train this weekend, thank you... We need more people involved in the training process, so bring a newbie with you and teach them the song of our people.
You all have a most excellent weekend and we'll see you on Monday.

Arpaio calls on 250K armed citizens to stop terrorism and mass shootings
Draw your weapons.
That's what Sheriff Joe Arpaio is urging nearly a quarter-million Arizona gun owners to do to fight terrorism and mass shooters.
On Tuesday, the so-called "Toughest Sheriff in America" said he cannot guarantee the public's safety and called on them to take matters into their own hands if necessary.
"I'm just talking about the areas where you have large crowds and someone pulls out the gun and starts shooting. Maybe somebody with a concealed weapon takes the guy down," Arpaio said.
Specifically, Arpaio was looking to the 250,000 Arizonans who carry concealed weapons permits to help keep the peace.
But there are some in law enforcement who are calling this a bad idea.

Ding, Dong – The Godfather Of Global Warming Is Dead!
Paris, COP21 Climate Summit – One of the most dangerous men of the Twentieth Century has just died: and the weird thing is, hardly anyone noticed.
His name was Maurice Strong (picture above, on the right), Canadian billionaire, diplomat and UN apparatchik, and though you may not have heard of him, he probably did more to make your world a more expensive, inconvenient, overregulated, hectored, bullied, lied-to, sclerotic, undemocratic place than anyone post Hitler, Stalin and (his personal friend) Mao.He’s the reason, for example, that most of the world’s leaders, 40,000 delegates and their attendant carbon mega-footprint descended here on Paris yesterday in order to talk about magical fairy dust for two weeks and then charge you $1.5 trillion (that’s per year, by the way) for the privilege.

When you read this part in the link, things will make sense if they don't already...
"Or, as he put it when he’d wormed his way through the system to the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1991:
Current lifestyle and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and workplace air-conditioning and suburban housing – are not sustainable. A shift is necessary which will require a vast strengthening of the multilateral system, including the United Nations."
To me, it makes perfect sense as to why standards of living have declined, wages have gone stagnant, and the prices of goods have been inflated way beyond our bank account capacities. These inbred, self-appointed, globalist worshiping elitist oligarchs have told us time and time again what their plans are for us common folk. They mean to wipe at least 5 billion people from the face of the earth. They all think this way and could care less what happens outside their bubbles of existence, as long as their mission and Utopian dreams for the world are fulfilled. These cats have come up with some real far out there shit... Never underestimate them.
We are on our own and foolish to think that anyone put into a position of power via the illusion of national level ballot boxes (aka slaves suggestion boxes) will save us from what is going to happen, whether we like it or not. These are the kinds of people that can pick up the phone and make shit happen instantly. They don't need to do any dirty work either. They have thousands of people underneath them waiting in line to do it for them.
This is reality. This is not a dream. Enjoy your time here fighting for scraps and trying to exist as happily as possible. Our feudal existences are meaningless, futile, and will never change anything as long as these Rich Uncle Pennybags types rule the power broker roosts.
We can only hope that Soros is next...

Here I be
Hey you, out there in the cold, getting lonely getting old, can you feel me?
I hope you all had a kick ass Thanksgiving and got a little time out of the salt mines to spend with your families.
I'm getting along as best I can. There are still some limited mobility issues that I've been dealing with. It comes with the territory I believe. My neck still has a catch or a snag in it when I look left, my back still hurts from the bulged discs, my left wrist is still sore (thank God I'm right handed), and my left shoulder has a catch / snag in it when I rotate my arm. I've had several vivid dreams about it since it happened. The sound and memory of the impact are still very fresh. I can still hear the metal crunch and recall the intensity of the crash the like it was yesterday. Not the first time I've dealt with traumatic experiences, time will heal it eventually...
We are back in the office working today and apparently "out of office" notifications do not do jack shit. You'd think that by having that on, that people would see that you are not available via email, phone, or in person, and would see that you have other people listed to contact in your absence. NOPE... Let's just keep sending emails to Stackz and ask questions about the stuff that the "out of office" has already told you that I'm not around to see it, know about it, or even address it. Holy shit we are living the idiot apocalypse, I swear. I should change it the next time I'm out to : "I am out of the fucking office dummy. I can be reached by waiting until I get back"...
9 days of vacation isn't enough. I think a month should be mandatory for everyone with a job. I wanted to go hunt, but then I figured that if I did kill anything, I'd be left to struggle alone with getting it back to the house. I'm in no shape to be lifting, pulling, or pushing anything at the moment. So, this year's hunting escapades may be delayed. I was able to tear down and deep clean every high speed impalement device that I own during my down time and also get a few things organized. I picked up a really cool micro-drone on Black Friday and I'm learning how to fly it with great success so far. I figured I'd learn to crash the cheap ones before I went and bought an expensive one to crash. Flying in first person view is easy with a camera streaming back to you, but I don't have that luxury on the micro-drone. I've had to learn to think in first person and tie that thinking into my hand and eye coordination. It's rough at first, but you get the hang of it eventually...
That's enough for now. I hope you all are back in the swing of things and doing well for yourselves.
Have an awesome Monday y'all...

I'm alive
I was
rear ended by a big rig hauling an empty trailer Tuesday afternoon as I was
headed home to drink beer with some fellow Marines for our Marine Corps
Birthday. I never made it to the festivities and ended up in the ER. I got
knocked into next week I think. Whiplash, muscle spasms, lower back pain,
shoulder pain, wrist pain, and head aches... All the symptoms of being hit by a
big truck. I've never felt force like that in my life and I've taken some
pretty good licks. Van is totaled. 2006 Dodge Caravan with 394,000 miles on it, and absolutely nothing wrong with it. Paid for, minimal operating expenses, and in very good shape. I'm pretty sure I got the last good dodge caravan ever made and it is now ruined. Figures I'd be forced into a new car note. Just what I wanted, more financial hemorrhaging...
I got very lucky. The driver dodged off to the right at the
last second and clipped me with his front left bumper, pushing it into his front left tire, which absorbed a lot of the impact. I was sitting completely
still and looked up at the last second to see him sliding toward me with smoke rolling out from under his rig. If he had been any more square in line with the
frame / front bumper tie in, he would have pushed me straight forward into
several cars until he stopped. Luckily, the bumper folded on his truck at the
right spot and I did not feel the full effect of the truck force moving at 50
mph. It was still brutal. It knocked me plain stupid for a few
seconds.
Since I'm under heavy medication to block these nerve synapses, I will
be working very light today and tomorrow. I feel like I had a coke machine
dropped on me… BUT I’M STILL ALIVE!!!
It’s gonna take more than that to take
this old Marine out...

How Law Enforcement Can Use Google Timeline To Track Your Every Move
THE RECENT EXPANSION of Google’s Timeline feature can provide investigators unprecedented access to users’ location history data, allowing them in many cases to track a person’s every move over the course of years, according to a report recently circulated to law enforcement.
“The personal privacy implications are pretty clear but so are the law enforcement applications,” according to the document, titled “Google Timelines: Location Investigations Involving Android Devices,” which outlines the kind of information investigators can now obtain.
The Timeline allows users to look back at their daily movements on a map; that same information is also potentially of interest to law enforcement. “It is now possible to submit a legal demand to Google for location history greater than six months old,” the report says. “This could revitalize cold cases and potentially help solve active investigations.”

What does all this mean in terms of the Fourth Amendment? It's simple really, the technological and human factors that muddied the water of gathering and processing of data in the past are quickly disappearing...

Creepier than Google Glass? A third eye in the middle of your head
Where cyclops failed, triclops may be the answer.
Where Google Glass failed, sticking a camera in the middle of your head may well be the future. This seems to be the vision of the founders at 3rdiTEK with their 3RDi wearable.
Based in Montreal, this company launched an Indiegogo campaign on Tuesday, one that hasn't yet seen eye-to-eye with too many backers.
The idea is blindingly simple. There's a camera permanently strapped in the middle of your head. It's on a headband. The camera has got autofocus and is high-definition.
Whenever you want to take a picture, you tap the headband. You can even post directly to your favorite social medium.

A Father's Advice
If a sportsman true you’d be
Listen carefully to me. . .
Never, never let your gun
Pointed be at anyone.
That it may unloaded be
Matters not the least to me.
When a hedge or fence you cross
Though of time it cause a loss
From your gun the cartridge take
For the greater safety’s sake.
If twixt you and neighboring gun
Bird shall fly or beast may run
Let this maxim ere be thine
"Follow not across the line."
Stops and beaters oft unseen
Lurk behind some leafy screen.
Calm and steady always be
"Never shoot where you can’t see."
You may kill or you may miss
But at all times think this:
"All the pheasants ever bred
Won’t repay for one man dead."

This Is the Worst U.S. Earnings Season Since 2009
This U.S. earnings season is on track to be the worst since 2009 as profits from oil & gas and commodity-related companies plummet.
So far, about three-quarters of the S&P 500 have reported results, with profits down 3.1 percent on a share-weighted basis, data compiled by Bloomberg shows. This would be the biggest quarterly drop in earnings since the third quarter 2009, and the second straight quarter of profit declines. Earnings growth turned negative for the first time in six years in the second quarter this year.

The oil market is cyclical and always has been. The current low price is cutting into developments, that will curtail future production and justify a future high price, which will start up development again when prices rise. It's feast or famine. There's not really any thing in the middle of those two. When it's good, it's real good. When it's bad, it's real bad.
We did not go to war to get oil, we went to war to control the price of oil.

The FBI’s National Instant Background Check System processed 1,976,759 firearms related checks in October. That is a 373,290 increase in checks over last year and a new record for the month. It also makes October the sixth consecutive month to see a record number of checks.
