Driver's licenses from these states may not work on domestic flights

In some states, your driver's license soon might not be good enough to board a flight, even if you're traveling within the United States.

The Department of Homeland Security said it will be making a decision this week.

Before you start worrying, there are a boatload of caveats: The government's decision will apply only to people in a handful of states. It wouldn't take effect until at earliest the end of April. And DHS could still decide to postpone its decision, according to a DHS spokeswoman.

Why your driver's license soon might not be good enough to board a flight:

Ten years ago, the U.S. government passed the Real ID Act, issuing stricter standards for state-issued IDs, including drivers licenses. The idea was to toughen standards on what documents were needed to get a driver's license, an effort to crack down on the potential for terrorists and criminals to obtain state-issued IDs. The act makes it harder to obtain a drivers license with counterfeit records.

Fewer than half (22) of the states have complied with the law.

When you have idiots working at DHS like this one below, it's not hard to understand why they make shit so difficult for people and why they'll never stop real terrorism with bullshit like "Real ID". Some people's kids... The noose continues to tighten.

And she thinks the shit is funny, sitting there smirking like she can't believe that he had the audacity to challenge her entitlement syndrome and put her stupid ass on the carpet in front of everyone... She can't even pour piss out of a fucking boot, but she's still getting paid a lot of money to be a "professional"... He knocked her so far off her script it wasn't even funny.

he made nice speeches, BUT SHE GOT AWAY WITHOUT ANSWERING....nothing has changed. He spoke well, but ultimately the government still gets to stop you from travelling without ever actually accusing you, and you essentially have no right to appeal or face your accuser.

He didn't fix anything, all he did was push some hot air.

Transfer the Coast Guard to it own department where it belongs and shut down the rest of DHS.

Apparently, Kelli Ann Burriesci was sent as a stand-in for Jeh Johnson--the United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
Did you know her salary is over US$154k/yr:
http://www.fedsdatacenter.com/federal-pay-rates/index.php?n=Burriesci&l=&a=&o=&y=2014
Did you know that her educational background has no criminal justice aspect--she earned a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University:

Yet, her job title, "Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security’s Screening Coordination Office", might lead one to believe she had some previous exposure in law enforcement, or security, or intelligence or military background in order to be hired by DHS "to work on policies that facilitate the travel of individuals to the United States, or[t]he legitimate issuant of immigration benefits and policy that deters bad guys that threaten the United States" (her words). How did she get her job? She got her job via a "networking opportunity with a past acquaintance" (again, her words):
