Drug-dealing deputy leads authorities to more illegal activity
SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - In July of 2013, a Smith County Sheriff's Office Deputy, Kimbrick Jones, was arrested for selling drugs out of his patrol car. That investigation lead authorities to uncover a large-scale narcotics ring and other illegal activity.
As a result of a year-long investigation, 6 more people were arrested on charges ranging from distribution of drugs to illegal horse racing. Authorities seized several vehicles, thousands of dollars, 100 acres of real estate, and a significant amount of drugs in the bust.
