Wanted Man Taunts Police On Facebook, Arrested 24-Hours Later
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD- A man trying to outsmart the cops in Maryland, actually helped lead law-enforcement right to him.
And it all started on a police department Facebook page.
"We figured we'd profile a couple of our wanted people that we haven't been able to track down," said TJ Smith of Anne Arundel County Police.
It's called ‘Wanted Wednesday.’
A new online initiative by Anne Arundel County Police.
"We figured we'd use our social media community to help us identify them and then some people might see themselves and turn themselves in," said Smith.
What the department didn't expect was what happened this past Wednesday, when Roger Ireland saw his face pop up on the screen.
Instead of keeping silent, he commented on his own picture.
