Just a few random thoughts

I keep seeing over and over how people intend to boycott the Oscars because they are too white...

Well folks, I have news for you. If you "against everything white because they are privileged" types would make a fucking movie worth a shit, I'd be willing to bet that you may get a nomination for an Academy Award. There are standards for awards. There are no Sidney Poitier's to be found these days. And shockingly, the Academy Award winner Mr Poitier himself, hasn't said shit about boycotting the Oscars. He gets it, act accordingly...

In order to have a victim culture you need to find and demonize the perpetrator. You can see this in the white privilege thing and also with men being demonized in order to give women more "victim cred". How in the fuck did we get to this "victim society" where everyone plays their little violin to their hurt feelings and complains about being treated unfairly? Guess what? There are two guarantees in life. Those are death and taxes. The rest is up to you to learn and handle because the real world doesn't give a shit about you and will eat you off the bone and shit you out. Life isn't fair. Deal with it. Deal with it without infringing on the rights of others. I see this entire feelings trumping rights thing gaining speed because the squeaky wheels always get the grease. Unfortunately, we've all been lied to our entire lives about how the world works and some of us have unrealistic expectations about entitlement. We aren't born entitled to anything except being Americans if you are born in America and her territories.

Am I of Caucasian descent? Partly, as I have genetic traits of other ethnic groups present in my DNA that have been researched and proven factual. I'm forced to ID with the Caucasian box on .Gov forms since there's not a block for French Indian, Acadian, German, Scottish, Antilles, or the Lucayan Archipelago. I'm not ashamed of any part of my lineage. Did I grow up enjoying this so called "white privilege", never really understanding of what it's like to be oppressed? What the fuck are y'all talking about? Oppression is any form of interference that is enforced against someone trying to better themselves, applied unjust treatment, or control mechanisms that are put in place. We are all oppressed in some form or fashion. Do I complain about it? Sometimes, you've read it here before, and when I do try to provide a solution to it, I do not include infringing on the rights of other Americans to accomplish what I feel is justice, nor do I lump in an entire ethnic group as perpetrators. What the hell do you mean "white privilege"? I can't dunk a basketball, your arguments are invalid.

In the Marines, we are taught that all of us are green. And when you think about it, it's for good reason. Color indicators make it obvious that those colors are different. There is no individual, only a team. With shades of green you get different greens, but they are still green right? I think some of these pussy footing pansies need to leave the military alone if they’re not military material. You don’t like it? Don’t let the door hit ya assholes. Don’t try to change it to suit your softness and weaknesses. Who cares about your little butt hurt feelings? Recruits are supposed to feel belittled or offended. Drill Instructors should be able to use whatever insult hits the hardest. Who joins the Corps expecting to be coddled or to change it? This is the Marines! Political correctness has no place. Marines exist to kill bad guys or to support other Marines who kill bad guys. If you want something else there's always the Boy Scouts or Peace Corps. They beat you down into nothing, and mold you in to a Prideful, combat capable, Constitution protecting Marine… If you can't handle it, well, you'll be weeded out. My drill instructors beat me down all the time, called me names, and made me feel like I wasn't worth their time or even belonged in the Corps. After boot camp was over one of my favorite DI's went to talk to my Mama and said I made it fun for him and was outstanding in my efforts to resists his ass whippings, that he broke me and made me a better man from it, that I never once gave up and that I pushed to prove him wrong and surpassed his expectations, and that he would fight next to me any day of the fucking week. Mark it.

I was the best man in a wedding once for my friends, who are black. It was one of the funnest experiences of my life, standing up there with the groom looking like Crockett and Tubbs.

At the receptions after the wedding, I was break dancing and people lost their minds because I broke the "typical white boy" image that is often portrayed in their culture. I'm serious, they had the only white dude in the groomsmen wearing white, on white, on white, on white, on a purple vest. We still joke about it between us and to tell you the truth, when I had my head shaved, all of them used to fuck with me and call me Bull from Night Court. Did I ever get offended and throw the race card as a defense mechanism? Hell no, I find the shit hilarious and would pour it right back on them and we'd all laugh until we almost threw up.

I have a black God-Child that I love as much as my own children. I would not trade my relationship with her and her family for anything, as I consider them to be family, even if we are not of blood relation. As a matter of fact, if her mother were to die of Breast Cancer tomorrow, my wife and I would become her legal guardians. The frame work for that has been put in place just in case. Some of her family doesn't agree with it, and that's fine. My question is, where in the fuck were those who were complaining and saying shit about her coming to live with a white family when her mother needed help on her light bill or groceries as she was going through Chemo to save her life and she couldn't work? Where in the hell were all the complainers when she needed meals sold to help raise money for her treatments? Where were all those complainers when her siblings needed rides back and forth to school? Crickets... Exactly. It's not a gun, culture, racism, financial, environmental, political problem. It's a heart problem... Cain killed Abel with a rock or a knife supposedly. Do I need to continue?

Some of these fools need to get over themselves is all I'm saying. The world doesn't owe anyone shit. I'm just sick and tired of seeing all of the division between Americans. It's by design and the majority of people who cater to it are unable to see the programming for what it is.

I think I was born a few centuries late...

I grew up on a farm in rural eastern Kentucky. We had no running water. We heated with coal, farmed with mules, and produced and preserved 90+% of everything we ate. We worked from before dawn till after dark six days a week (sunday was "light". we only fed stock) & went to school.(dirt roads till 1975) We were expected to buy our own shoes and dress clothes by working in the fields all summer. I am 100% pure Britanic Celt.("white" as you can get) I put my self thru collage with no government "help" other than the pride that came with my DD214 . So will somebody please tell me how I suddenly developed some kind of "privilege"? Cause the only thing I remember being called as a kidd was "hillbilly" "Hick" and "White trash"--Ray

I've been boycotting all the awards shows for decades. I just thought they were boring. I can't understand why anyone watches them.

Agreed, I don't watch the shit either. I just referenced the Oscars as its a hot topic at the moment.

Right on Ray! I don't care what anyone calls me as long as it's in time for dinner!

All this crutch using for lack of personal responsibility and accountability makes me pissed. I have never had anything given to me that I didn't either work my ass of for or was owed as payment for something I provided to someone previously as a favor or good deed.

Collectivists avoid work of any type since they are above getting their hands dirty.

I went to a gathering last night celebrating the works of Robert Burns and Scottish heritage. I was invited by a close friend who is a native Scott and runs a business importing various Scottish goods. We were gathered at a table with other friends and employees including a black gentleman who was outfitted in full regalia of kilt and all the trimmings. We were introduced and I looked him up and down and with a perfectly straight face and said "Don't tell me, you're black Irish, right?" He looked back at me with a big smile and said "Bu' o'course laddie! kin I buy ya a beer?" People have become conditioned to have no sense of humor about race. We al have one and it should be no less a part of humorous interaction between people as any other aspect of life.
